The Anibal Ramos Jr. Civic Association held its 7th Annual Golf Outing at Essex County Weequahic Golf Course in Newark, raising thousands of dollars that will be used to provide scholarships to Newark students.

Since ARJ Civic was founded in 2014, the organization has given out more than $10,000 in scholarships each year to deserving high school and college students from Newark.

In addition to providing scholarships, ARJ Civic hosts numerous events for seniors, including a Valentine’s Day event Mother’s and Father’s Day lunch and day trips to casinos in Atlantic City and Bethlehem, Pa. For families, ARJ Civic host Movies in the Park twice every summer with a Back-to-School Night in which more than 500 free backpacks are distributed to children.
