North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos Jr. congratulates Kassie Lizbeth Narvaez on receiving a scholarship from the Anibal Ramos Jr. Civic Association. 

Kassie graduated from Rafael Hernandez and will be attending Saint Vincent’s Academy in the fall.

Though she is only entering high school, Kassie says she already knows that she wants to attend the University of California at Los Angeles and become a forensic pathologist.

Kassie started painting from an early age.

"I don't always paint just for fun, I also paint to release anxiety or to show how I feel," she says. "Painting isn't just a form of art for me, when I paint I feel free."
