ARJ Civic, along with a host of elected officials, hosted a celebration for mothers and fathers in the North Ward.

More than 275 people celebrated at the event, which took place on Friday, May 13 at the Flamboyan Manor in Newark.

"We always have to remember to honor our mothers and our fathers," said North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos Jr., one of the sponsors of the event.

The other sponsors were: Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo, state Sen. M. Teresa Ruiz, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Assemblywoman L. Grace Spencer, Assemblywoman Eliana Pintor Marin, Council President Mildred Crump and Newark Councilmen-at-Large Luis Quintana, Eddie Osborne and Carlos M. Gonzalez.
