North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos Jr. congratulates Aziel Antonio Blackwell on receiving a scholarship from the Anibal Ramos Jr. Civic Association.

Aziel graduated from the Ridge Street School and is attending St. Benedict's Prep in the fall.

Born in Lexington, KY, Aziel moved to Newark with his mother when he was 8 years old.

I am an enthusiastic and fun person. I love to always do something new. My

Aziel's favorite sport is basketball and he was part of the Newark Elementary Championship team at Ridge Street School. He also runs track for Ridge Street School and plays football for the North Ward Raiders.

In addition, Aziel is a Royal Ranger at my church, Temple Rock of My Salvation. At my school, he is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.

"I am an enthusiastic and fun person," he says. "I am always active and participating in something and everything available."
