Keturah attended McKinley Elementary School and graduated from North 13th Street Technical High School. At NJCU, she is president of her sorority chapter, Zeta Phi Beta. After graduating in the spring, Keturah said she hopes to attend Rutgers to pursue a master's degree in social work.

"My passion and dream is to be able to help those who have experience adversity as I did and give back to my community," said Keturah, who was raised by her aunt and grandfather.

Keturah said receiving the scholarship from ARJ Civic Association will allow her to finish her senior year without struggling to pay tuition while working two jobs.

"I worked extremely hard to get to this point in my life," she said. "I will be the first to graduate from college in my entire family and this is an accomplishment that I am more excited about than anything else in my life."
